MyEmory surpasses goal

Sally Lehr (left) and Ginger Cain are the co-chairs of MyEmory.

MyEmory, the employee component of Campaign Emory, has surpassed its monetary goal of $50 million only a few months after the official launch in February.

Emory employees and retirees have contributed to raising $52 million as of Sept. 30, exceeding the initial monetary goal of $50 million.

"This tremendous beginning to our employee annual giving program confirms what we already knew about our community—your passion for and steadfast support of Emory go beyond what you already contribute in time and talent," says Ginger Cain '77C-'82G, director of public programs for Emory Libraries and co-chair of MyEmory.

"Employees and retirees from every school and unit have risen to the MyEmory challenge, contributing to scholarships, patient care, the arts, research, and countless other priorities, supporting areas important to them and to the University," adds Sally Lehr '65N-'76MN, clinical associate professor at Nell Hodgson School of Nursing and co-chair of MyEmory.

As of the end of October, 3,321 employees had contributed to MyEmory, and the goal is to exceed 4,000 participants within the next two years.

Cain and Lehr encourage all employees to find a place at Emory they find worthy of support and to make a gift, regardless of size.

"There are limitless opportunities available to support academics, health care, social action, and even your fellow employees with your annual gifts," Lehr says. "For those of you still contemplating gifts, any gift you make helps the entire Emory community by making the University stronger."
