Take a study break with 'Mummies and Music'

The Carlos Museum invites students to a night of Mummies and Music with The Shadowboxers for a break from end-of-semester studying on Friday night, Dec. 3., from 8 to 10:30 p.m.

Beginning at 8 p.m., students can visit the museum’s galleries to prep for a trivia contest on the ancients in popular culture. Winners will receive prizes from local businesses including Evolve, Doc Chey's, Phidippides, Murphy’s, the Carlos Bookshop and more.

The first 40 students to arrive will receive free burritos from Bell Street Burritos. Gourmet popsicles from King of Pops will also be available.

The Shadowboxers members Matt Lipkins, Adam Hoffman, Scott Schwartz and Jamie Reilly, have taken the Emory — and Atlanta — music scene by storm with complex and catchy harmonies anchored in multiple genres from funk and jazz to soul and blues.

Visit the Carlos Calendar for more information on this and other events, including the Holiday Sale at the Carlos Museum Bookshop that goes through Dec. 5.
