Cookbook shares parents' recipes

A digital cookbook with prizes for the best recipes is Emory Dining’s way of easing the transition from home to college living.

All freshmen parents were invited to participate in the 2010 “Recipes from Home” inaugural contest; over 35 recipes were received.

Every recipe was reviewed by Emory Dining executive chefs for their appropriateness in residential dining, as well as the availability of ingredients. From the submission, 15 recipes were selected to be taste-tasted by Emory students. Recipes were then sampled and voted on in Dining at Dobbs in the DUC in October.

A winner and an honorable mention were selected for each category, encompassing Best Entrée, Best Sandwich/Side Dish and Best Dessert. The winning recipes were featured in Dining at Dobbs in November and are included in the “Recipes from Home” digital cookbook.
