Putting a spin on AIDS fundraiser

Spin to End (AIDS) 2011, an indoor cycling fundraiser to benefit Action Cycling Atlanta and AIDS vaccine research, will take place from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at Emory's WoodPEC cycling studio.

Form a team with five of your friends, or join an existing team.

"Each rider spins for an hour and raises at least $100, for a team total of $600 or more. Pledges can be from friends, family, co-workers and corporations sponsoring you," says Leon Morales, co-ride director for the 2011 AIDS Vaccine 2000.

The AIDS Vaccine 200 is a two-day, 200-mile ride to raise money for the Emory Vaccine Center. Produced by Action Cycling Atlanta, this year's ride will be May 14-15.

"Spin to End is a precursor event to May's AV200," Morales says. "It's another way for Action Cycling to raise much-needed funds for vaccine research, but also a way to shine even more light on our larger event in May."

Get more information about the event or register to participate visit www.SpinToEnd.org or call 404.954.CYCL.

"You can also sponsor a specific participant or make a general donation by visiting the site," says Morales. He emphasizes that both serious and more recreational riders participate in the AV200 and Spin to End events.
