For the third year in a row, Emory has been recognized by the American Heart Association as a Fit Friendly Company.  This is the second year the University has been awarded the platinum status.

In conferring the award, the American Heart Association notes Emory's "ongoing efforts to provide a culture of corporate wellness your organization has demonstrated extraordinary, tangible results."

Eddie Gammill, manager of wellness programs for the Faculty Staff Assistance Program (FSAP), points out the programs that contributed to the award, including coaching and programs for nutrition and fitness and wellness fairs that offer a variety of free screenings to employees.

FSAP will host the next wellness fair on Thursday, Feb. 24 at Winship Cancer Institute.  For a full list of wellness fair and screening events, visit the FSAP website.

"While we certainly recognize February as Heart Month, heart health doesn't stop in February and it's important to take care of your heart year-round," Gammill notes.

He says FSAP will have activities planned in March for National Nutrition Month and April for National Start Walking Day.
