Order sustainably grown food for campus pickup
Get local produce, meat and cheese delivered for weekly pickup at the Rollins School of Public Health.
The program is part of the Rollins Environmental Health Action Committee’s (REHAC) effort to promote sustainable food practices through Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). It is open to everyone.
Moore Farms and Friends supplies fresh, local and regional fruits and vegetables. Moore partners with other local producers to provide the option of adding meat, cheese, dairy, honey and more.
"You can either get the Farmer's pick, which is a pre-seleciton of produce based on what is in season ($20 or $30), or you can craft your own box for an addition charge of $4," says Marissa Grossman, a masters of public health student. Order online and pick up on Thursdays between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. in the Office of Student Services in the Grace Crum Rollins Building.
Response to the program has already exceeded expectations, says Anna Handley, a masters of public health student. “I expected around 10 orders a week, but the Rollins community alone is ordering close to 20 CSA boxes a week" with additional meat and cheese items.
Handley says, "Clearly, by high volume of orders, RSPH students and faculty desire local produce."
