Brown bag session on transgender identity set

"Transgender 101: Exploring Sex and Gender," a panel discussion on transgender identity, will be Wednesday, March 30 at noon in the multipurpose room of the Few residence hall.

A panel of speakers will discuss different aspects of transgender identity, or gender identity disorder, as it is known in the medical community.

This event is sponsored by the President's Commission on Race and Ethnicity; Status of Women; and Sexuality, Gender Diversity, and Queer Equality; and the Office of LGBT life. It’s part of LGBT’s Lunch and Learn series.

"Gender identity disorder as a topic was brought to the attention of the three commissions last year and this event provides members of the Emory community with the tools to have respectful and rich dialogue around a sensitive topic," says Jaspal Singh Bhatia, a member of the President’s Commission on Race and Ethnicity.
