The "Henry Melchior Muhlenberg Exhibit" opens Sunday, June 5, at the Pitts Theology Library. An introduction to the exhibit at 6 p.m. with refreshments marks its opening.
The special traveling exhibit celebrates the 300th anniversary of the birth of Henry Melchior Muhlenberg, the Lutheran pietist minister credited with securely establishing the Lutheran church in the American colonies. Materials that influenced Muhlenberg from Pitts' special collections will supplement the exhibit, drawn from the Franckesche Stiftungen in Germany.
