Village road paving nears end

Please note the updated paving schedule.

The paving of North Decatur and Oxford roads through Emory Village is expected to be completed as early as the end of June

The paving of North Decatur and Oxford roads through Emory Village is expected to be completed as early as the end of June.

Rain could impact the schedule of the weather-dependent project, DeKalb County says.

Sections of North Dectaur Road and Oxford Road will be closed between 12 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22 and Thursday, June 23. Traffic will be detoured.

The roundabout, which replaced the traffic lights at the Village intersection, is in use. Its framework was completed earlier in June and the center island and street lights on North Decatur Road installed.

The entire Village project, encompassing intersection and adjacent areas, is expected to be substantially completed by late summer. More than 50 trees will be planted and outdoor lighting installed during the fall.

The Alliance to Improve Emory Village is currently raising funds to finish the park and other greening efforts on the edges of the Village.
