Bridging Muslim-Jewish understanding through sharing
The weekend before Thanksgiving, Emory's Children of Abraham — a group of Muslim and Jewish students who come together through dialogue, shared values and social action projects — fed roughly 100 Clarkston refugees a hot meals. They also toured an Atlanta mosque and a synagogue.
In honor of 4th Annual Weekend of Twinning, an international movement aimed at strengthening Muslim and Jewish relations, the Emory Muslim Student Association (MSA) invited their Jewish friends along on one of their regular community service projects.
"Emory students are leaders in the world and they're inspiring others [to] look at our example of coming together and bridging toward commonalities," says Asad Abdulla, president of MSA.
