Take Note

Bike Emory now offers rentals

The bike rental program uses the same high quality Fuji bicycles that faculty, staff and students can buy.

People who want to use a bike without having to buy one can benefit from Bike Emory's new Rental Bike Program.

Participants in this pilot program are able to choose from over a dozen Fuji Crosstown bicycles to rent for $75 per semester.

"The bike rental program delivers an affordable solution by using the same high quality Fuji bicycles that faculty, staff and students can buy," says Jamie Smith, director of Bike Emory.

Riders can cruise around campus and beyond after completing these steps:

1. Place an order with a secure online payment.

2. Print and complete the waiver and agreement forms.

3. Make arrangements with Bicycle South to either have your bike delivered on campus at the HUB (the new name of Emory's Mobile Repair Center, now in the DUC) or pick it up at Bicycle South.

4. At the end of the semester, return the bike or make arrangements to extend your rental for another semester.

Bicycle advisory committee developing

In other Bike Emory news, a bicycle advisory committee is being formed with the intent to provide a forum for cyclists to share ideas and become involved with issues affecting Emory cyclists. Interested faculty, staff and students are encouraged to email Bike Emory.
