Emory Mobile iPhone update adds new features

A new verison of Emory Mobile is now available for download.

An update of Emory Mobile for iPhones adds two new features—"Give" and "Courses."

The revised "Courses" module makes it easier for students to plan their semester. The feature pulls live data on class time, location, availability and instructor. Students can bookmark courses, including the ones they are currently taking for quick reference. Courses at all Emory schools are available.

The new "Give" option offers a way to make a gift to support Emory directly from the iPhone.

To get the new features, simply install the Emory Mobile 2.0 update from the iTunes App Store.

To date, nearly 70 percent of all downloads of the Emory Mobile app are for iOS devices, according to the Emory Mobile project team. With 10,500 installs of the app as of early September, there were:

• 1,274 installs for Android;

• 2,658 installs for BlackBerry;

• 6,746 installs for iOS devices.

Updates for BlackBerry and Android are expected to be ready by spring, says Jan Gleason, executive director of University Marketing.

The enhancements build on the Emory Mobile suite of smartphone apps, designed to allow students, staff, faculty and visitors to access current Emory information from their smartphones.
