Massage therapy can be gift of well-being

This year, give the gift of health and wellness for the holidays with a massage gift certificate from Radiant Reflections.

Radiant Reflections offers chair and table massage services at Wesley Woods Center and Emory University Hospital Midtown. Occupational Injury Management contracted with Radiant Reflections to offer these services. Massage therapists are also available in individual departments upon request.

Paula DesRoches, director of Occupational Injury Management, says giving gift certificates is one way to take advantage of massage therapy services now available to Emory employees.

The cost is $20 for every 15 minutes; $75 for a Swedish table massage. Cash, checks and all major credit cards are accepted.

"Radiant Reflections also accepts flexible spending cards, so use it before you lose it," DesRoches suggests.

Massage therapy can counter tension from a strenuous workday, stiffness from sleeping in a bad position, aches from sitting at a desk or standing all day, she says, by easing stress, increasing blood flow, reducing muscle tension and pain and pressure on nerves.
