Federal Loan Recipient Exit Interviews

The federal government requires all students who borrowed federal loans to receive a loan exit interview from their institution before their last day of enrollment. The following topics (and others) are discussed during the exit interview process:

  • Your rights and responsibility in repaying your loans.
  • Repayment options available to you.
  • Consequences of DEFAULT.

Federal Work-Study Job Fair

Each August, the Student Employment Office hosts the Annual Federal Work-Study Job Fair. All students who are awarded Federal Work-Study as part of their financial aid award packages are invited to attend. The annual job fair is an excellent opportunity to review the available positions and meet prospective employers face-to-face. Hiring officials from numerous on and off campus departments and organizations are present at the job fair. It is also a great opportunity for you to have your questions answered regarding available positions. The 2009-10 Job Fair will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2009, from 9:00am to 4:00pm in the Winship Ballroom of the Dobbs University Center (DUC).

Peer Financial Counseling Workshops

The goal of this program is to increase financial literacy and financial independence among Emory's student body.

The Peer Financial Counseling Program is composed of student volunteers who speak to various organizations on campus on subjects ranging anywhere from credit cards to investments, and everywhere in between. Students are able (and encouraged) to ask questions regarding any of the content covered in the presentations. They are able to learn from the presentations, as well as personal stories that student volunteers might wish to share.

Visit the Student Money Management website to learn more or schedule a Peer Financial Counseling Session.

Financial Aid Nights at High Schools

Emory financial aid advisors participate in Financial Aid Nights at various high schools throughout the region. We are dedicated to assisting students and families navigate the intricacies of the Financial Aid process. At these events, we are on hand to answer questions from families and high school guidance counselors regarding the aid application process.
