Emory Celebrates National Financial Literacy Month

“Step into the World of Financial Literacy” with the Emory Peer Financial Counselors and the Office of Financial Aid as we celebrate National Financial Literacy during the month of April. During this month, Emory’s Peer Financial Counselors will highlight the importance of financial literacy and promote the importance of maintaining healthy financial habits. Making well informed decisions about money is an important life skill, particularly during this difficult economy.

Have you been working hard to meet your new year’s resolutions? You may have spent the first few months of 2013 getting physically fit or quitting a bad habit. Did one of your resolutions include becoming financially fit? We can help you develop a plan during National Financial Literacy Month.

The month will be filled with a series of on-campus events to get you in tip-top financial shape. Our festivities will kick off on Friday, March 29, 2013 from 11am-2pm in the Quadrangle. Come out and see some of your favorite Emory step teams and dance groups perform while receiving valuable information on topics such as student loan repayment options, saving, investing and credit management.

Events will continue throughout April. Week 2 will include one-on-one personal finance sessions provided with a professional financial advisor. During the week of April 15th, student loan repayment seminars will be offered across campus. The final week’s theme is dedicated to “Finding Your Financial Freedom”. Hear some of your favorite professors discuss investment strategies and listen to their personal experiences on money management.
