The Greek community at Emory University is currently assessing
its strong presence at Emory University. For nearly 140 years, fraternity and
sorority members at Emory have helped provide leadership, service, and social
opportunities for many students. With over 30% of undergraduate students having
membership in a fraternity or sorority, it is important to constantly strive
for improvement.
In 2011, Emory University will celebrate its 175th birthday.
By that year, the Greek community hopes to be a model for
other colleges and
universities to look to for structure, guidance, and best practices. During
the next few years members of the Greek community (students, alumni(ae),
faculty, staff, and headquarters) will work together to map out a plan to
becoming a
model Greek community.
