The creation of a new office on
the Emory campus specifically dedicated to the needs and goals of the Greek
experience. The office of Greek Life, the Interfraternity Council, and
the Panhellenic Council are created on the 2nd floor of Harris Hall.
Alpha Chi Omega Sorority is closed
indefinitely by their National Office.
A new award is established and
presented at the Annual Greek Life Awards Banquet. This new award was established
to honor Dr. William H. Fox, Vice-President and Dean of Campus Life and
was named the DEAN'S CUP.
Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity and
Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority named Dean's Cup recipients.
Greak Life Assistant (GLA) Program
started.
The Panhellenic Council votes to expand the
sorority system.
Delta Tau Delta Fraternity re-colonizes
after a four-year absence.
Celebrating 30 years on campus,
the Panhellenic Council is changed to Intersorority Council (ISC), in
order to include Delta Sigma Theta and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
