Sigma Chi raises $15,000 for the Vincent R. Currid Memorial Fund.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. named "Southeastern Regional Chapter of the year" for the second consecutive year.

 
  Kappa Alpha order removed from their chapter house by area alumni for numerous behavioral violations.
 
 

All 367 women who attend Preference Round recieve an invitation (bid) to join a sorority.

ISC votes to expand sorority system and extends offer to Sigma Delta Tau sorority.

 
  Chi Phi Fraternity named National Chapter of the Year.

Kappa Alpha order becomes part of the Phoenix Plan.

Sigma Nu Fraternity has its charter temporarily suspended pending a University investigation of accusations that underage students were served alcohol in the Sigma Nu house.
