Sorority and Fraternity Life provide Emory's students with an endless array of possibilities to become involved on campus. Emory's sorority and fraternity members are leaders on campus and around the community. Founded upon ideas of personal growth, academic excellence, truth, brotherhood and sisterhood, fraternities and sororities provide students with an opportunity to make friendships that will last a lifetime. The experiences and challenges that you will face as a member will strengthen your character by increasing individuality and belonging to a larger community.
The Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life (OSFL) currently recognizes 12 Fraternities
and 13 Sororities. Greek organizations have been in existence at Emory for
over 135 years and have always been strong contributors to the improvement
of this University and the surrounding community. Being Greek is more than
just a social outlet. It means having a strong dedication to philanthropy/service,
academics, and active involvement in all aspects of college life. As a Greek
member you will have the responsibility to carry on traditions and values that
have been around for hundreds of years, as well as modifying the Greek community
to meet the needs of the ever-changing society and student population.
I encourage you to take full advantage of the Sorority and Fraternity community at Emory; the opportunities that arise will extend long past your time at the University. Sorority and Fraternity members at Emory have proved to be the leaders of this fine institution and I am compelled to congratulate Emory sorority and fraternity members on their continued excellence in scholarship and philanthropy/service. Please feel free to call upon the OSFL at anytime. Our office staff looks forward to working with you to make the Sorority and Fraternity community even stronger!
