Kappa Sigma fraternity was founded in 1869 at the University of Virginia by five friends bound by Scholarship, Fellowship, Leadership, and Service. The fraternity has grown to having over 230,000 members. The Alpha chapter, founded in 1883 and dormant since the Great Depression, returned to Emory University in the spring of 2005.
