Fraternity men may choose to live in the houses
on campus starting the semester after they have initiated. The
fraternity houses on campus are all maintained by the University
under the Phoenix Plan, an agreement between the University and
fraternity/sorority chapters that ensures a chapter's success through
maintenance and service of the Houses, responsible House
Corporations, and minimum occupancy standards.
Housing selection for fraternity men begins in
the spring semester. Each chapter may have different expectations
of their members; fraternity men are encouraged to speak with their
chapter officers about their financial obligations. Please consult
the Housing
Selection website for information on the process. Keep in mind
that all second-year students are required to live on campus and
non-initiated members may not choose to live in the houses.
The 2007-2008 cost of living in a fraternity
is $3142 per semester. The average fraternicy house meal plan
is $750 (approximately 8 meals per week) and can be supplemented
with a variety of University meal plans. All students living on
campus must have a meal plan.
