Recruitment > Support

New member recruitment is exciting and memorable, but it can also be very hectic. At the beginning of the fall semester, each freshman residence hall is assigned a Pi Chi (sorority) or a Recruitment Captain (fraternity).

Pi Chis and Recruitment Captains are members of a sorority or fraternity who remain neutral during the fall semester and throughout the formal recruitment process. This neutrality allows the Pi Chi/Recruitment Captain to give unbiased advice and reduces the pressure potential new members may feel if they know to which chapter the Pi Chi/Captain belonged.

Pi Chis participate in a rigorous training program designed to educate them on the unique process and guidelines of recruitment. A Pi Chi is a helpful resource, but more importantly, she is an impartial listener. She is a vital link between potential new members and the Greek community. She is a friend who will share in your joys and anxieties. Pi Chis strive to make your recruitment experience even more exciting and enjoyable.

Recruitment Captains introduce themselves to the freshmen men living in their residence halls, provide insight on the fraternity system, portray a positive impression of fraternities, and help freshmen through the recruitment process. During the actual recruitment process, the Recruitment Captain will be available to counsel and reassure.
