Recruitment > Why Should I go through Recruitment?

Why Should I?
Recruitment is the only way to get an accurate, first-hand account of whether you want to be a part of Emory's fraternity and sorority community for your next three and a half years!

Some people think you should participate in Recruitment only if you have already decided that you want to join a Greek-lettered organization. This shouldn't be the case... How could anyone know whether they wanted to join or not without learning about each chapter? Recruitment is about meeting people. Over 30% percent of the undergraduates at Emory are in a sorority or fraternity, and when you go through Recruitment you will be able to meet almost all of them. These women and men are strong leaders, honored scholars, talented athletes, and devoted community servants.

Already decided you want to join a Greek-letter organization?
Keep your options open and learn about all of them, so you can make the right decision about which is the best fit for you. Recruitment gives you the chance to identify the differences in each house and choose which one you would be most comfortable with.

Unsure?
Recruitment gives you the chance to figure out if sorority and fraternity life is for you. Recruitment is a period of time to get to know the chapters better.

Think Not?
Recruitment will give you a chance to see what each organization is about. With so many Greek men and women on campus, you won't know what you're missing unless you give it a chance. If after the two weeks you decide you don't want to join, the worst thing that will have happened is you had a great time, ate a lot of free food, and met dozens of new people.

Most importantly, Recruitment can be a lot of fun. Chapters arrange many activities to get to know you and introduce you to their groups. You will be treated to dinners, sporting events, movies, and other fun activities. The only way to take advantage of these opportunities is to register for Recruitment.
