Objectives: The Department of Psychology offers programs of study leading to the PhD in the areas of Clinical, Cognition and Development, and Neuroscience and Animal Behavior. The emphasis of the department is a broad, interdisciplinary approach to understanding issues and problems in contemporary psychology while offering specialization in a particular area. The program is oriented toward producing professionals who are solidly grounded in basic psychology as a science and who, in pursing careers as researchers and teachers, will expand the base of scientific knowledge upon which the discipline of psychology rests.
Additional Information: In addition to coursework and colloquia, the department has affiliations with the Emory University School of Medicine, Yerkes National Primate Research Center, the Center for Behavior Neuroscience and others to enhance research and study opportunity.
