The Student Activity & Academic Center will be hosting the following fitness classes from Monday, June 3rd through Friday, August 9th,. Please remember the first week will be FREE. The FREE sessions run from Monday, June 3rd through Thursday, June 6th. There will be no fitness classes on Thursday, July 4th. Class size is limited and all classes are on a first come, first served basis. All classes held in room 211 will be capped at 25 participants.
We now offer the Get Fit pass for fitness classes. This pass allows the owner to unlimited access to any of our fitness classes.

For non-Get Fit holders the classes are $6 per visit. A 5 class punch card can be purchased for $25 or a 10 class punch card for $45. All purchases can be made at the SAAC front desk.
NEW! Summer 2013 - Cardio Boot Camp
: Tuesdays 6:00pm - 6:50pm
This class will provide a total body workout – including your heart! Combining muscular strength and toning moves along with cardio-based interval drills you will be sure to leave this class feeling fit!
HIIT/Absolution: Thursdays 6:00pm - 6:50pm
Half the class will be H.I.I.T., and the other half will be Absolution.
H.I.I.T.: Stands for High Intensity Interval Training. This high-impact class is not a walk in the park! Plyometrics, cardio drills, and weight training are all combined into blood pumping intervals! This 25 minute burst will be short – so be ready to work!
Absolution: Developing a powerful core is the only thing on this class agenda. During this 25 minute concentrated class, you will learn about the different muscles involved in core strength and how to use them!
NEW! Summer 2013 - Lean Legs & Core Crusher: Wednesdays 8:00pm - 8:50pm
This class is designed to get your legs burning! Glutes, hamstrings, hips, quadriceps and calves are all targeted to get that perfect tone! Utilizing body weight and dumbbells, you will work your entire lower body and then follow up with 25 minutes of core exercise! Compliment this lower body workout with Mondays at 8pm with the "Upper Body Blast & Core Crusher" class for a total body killer workout!
Pilates: Mondays & Wednesdays 7:00pm - 7:50pm
A challenging class that uses mind-body exercises to stretch and strengthen the muscles. Pilates focuses on the powerhouse/abs, and works the rest of the body through the core connection. All levels are welcome.
Samba: Tuesdays & Thursdays 8:00pm - 8:50pm
Samba is to Brazil what Salsa is to Latin America. It is sexy, exciting, captivating and almost mesmerizing. Samba is a highly energetic dance that develops profound abdominal strength and control - we're talking serious isolation work that will chisel your mid-section while engaging the thighs, hips, gluts and calves! The fast-paced routines, through the sounds of Bahia artists like Harmonia do Samba (Nossa Paradinha) and Arlindo Cruz (Imperio Serrano) will help burn hundreds of calories per hour.
Strength & Tone: Thursdays 7:00pm - 7:50pm
This class will sculpt you into shape quickly and effectively from head to toe! Tone your arms, legs and get a rock-solid mid-section by utilizing free weights, body weights and core exercises. *ALL LEVELS*
Stretch & Tone: Tuesdays 7:00pm-7:50pm
This class is designed to stretch, tone and strengthen your entire body! Lengthen your body by incorporating stretching elements with the toning benefits of Body Sculpt. Leave this class feeling both relaxed and stronger. *ALL LEVELS*
NEW! Summer 2013 - Upper Body Blast & Core Crusher: Mondays 8:00pm - 8:50pm
This class is designed to rock your chest, back, shoulders and arms. In just 25 minutes you will utilize body weight, dumbbells and resistance bands to work your upper body to the max! Followed up with 25 minutes of an extreme core workout, you will leave this 50 minute class feeling satisfied and strong! Compliment this upper body workout with Wednesdays at 8pm with the "Lean Legs & Core Crusher" class for a total body killer workout!
NEW! Summer 2013 - Water Pulse: Tuesdays & Wednesdays 5:45pm - 6:35pm
Join our aerobic pool party! Choreography and energy offer a twist on your ordinary pool workout. Your heart will be pumping as you move your arms and legs through the water. Improve your strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness with a slpash.
Yoga - Classical Hatha: Mondays & Wednesdays 6:00pm - 6:50pm
Instructor: Alison Taylor is a Yoga Alliance Registered Teacher. She trained at Peachtree Yoga and has taught and studied various forms of hatha yoga for six years. She continues her training in Pranakriya with Yoganand Michael Carroll. Alison is also a certified Power Pilates instructor.
Class Requirements: Yoga Mat (can be purchased at the Information Desk for $12.00)
Class Description: A classical hatha yoga practice with emphasis on traditional asanas (postures) and pranayama (breath work). Focus is on flexibility, strength, relaxation, devotion, and personal growth. Long holds and floor work. Excellent for students just beginning a personal practice as well as for students seeking to deepen their understanding of traditional yoga. A meditative practice with attention to the cycles of the seasons and rhythms of the natural world.
