The Graduate Lease Agreement
Leases may begin on any day of the desired month of occupancy. Applicants should indicate a specific date on the application. If a specific date is not requested, the lease will begin on the first day of the desired month of occupancy. Rent is charged from the date the lease begins. Two types of Lease Agreements are available: May 17 and May 31 leases. Both leases commence on the date stated on the lease. May 17 leases terminate on the weekend after commencement in May. Unless the resident graduates or is no longer affiliated with Emory, leases can not be terminated prior to the selected end date without incurring the termination penalty as outlined in the Lease. The lease includes specific details about the apartment and will indicate the day your lease begins. The start date on your lease indicates the date that rental charges begin. The Graduate Lease Agreement is a binding agreement. Your signature on the Lease Agreement is binding and acknowledges your residential and financial obligation as well as your commitment to follow the policies and procedures of the University. |
