CHILD CARE | DAY CARE & AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS | PUBLIC SCHOOLS | RELIGIOUS PRIVATE SCHOOLS CHILD CARE Emory University has contracted with Brown Richards and Associates to provide a broad range of information and services regarding child care to University faculty, staff, and students. Brown Richards and Associates can help you assess your child care needs, explore your child care options, evaluate your current child care situation, and provide you with up-to-date information on day care centers and family day care homes, as well as after-school programs, summer camps, and private and special schools. When calling, be sure to identify yourself as a faculty member, staff member, or student of Emory University. There is no charge to you for using this resource and referral service. The University pays for the consultation. You will, of course, be responsible for the costs of any program in which you enroll your child. Additional information regarding this child care resource and referral service is available from the Faculty Staff Assistance Program at 404.727.WELL. Child care is also available through the Child Care Center located at Clairmont Campus. However, services are considerably more expensive. Children residing at Emory’s Clairmont Campus or President Park attend Fernbank Elementary School (grades K-6), Shamrock Middle School (grades 7-8), and Druid Hills High School (grades 9-12). Students must attend the school in the attendance area in which they legally reside. You may be asked to provide a copy of your lease as proof of residence. For children entering school in the fall, a registration day is held at each school approximately one week prior to opening day. For additional information, the schools should be contacted.
School buses pick up and drop off Fernbank and Shamrock students inside the apartment complex. Children attending Druid Hills High School may ride the University shuttle to and from school. For more information, contact the Dekalb County School System: |
