Additional Information

The Graduate Assistant (GA) is a 20-hour per week, live-in position responsible for assisting the Associate Director of Residence Life with the coordination of recruiting, selection, and training of almost 200 paraprofessionals serving the residential community. Additionally, the GA will assist the Associate Director in monitoring and developing programming opportunities for the residence hall staff members.

Applications are due Monday, March 18, 2013.
Interviews for select candidates will take place from Monday, March 25 - Thursday, March 28, 2013.
Decisions will be made and communicated to applicants by Friday, April 5, 2013.

Eligibility

All applicants for the Graduate Assistant positions with Residence Life & Housing at Emory University must have received a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college and must be enrolled as a full-time student in an Emory graduate program while employed.

Preference for GA positions will be given to applicants with experience as a RA and/or with a Residence Hall Association (RHA). Other undergraduate experience or involvement with programming and student groups may be sufficient.

Compensation

Currently, the compensation and benefits package for the Graduate Assistant position includes the following:

Stipend of $7,000 (11-month contract)
Furnished, air-conditioned on-campus apartment within an assigned residence hall. (All utilities, local telephone, cable and internet service are provided.)
Vacation time of two weeks during the winter break holiday period

Training

All candidates who are selected for the GA position are required to attend and assist with fall staff training prior to the opening of school in August. This year's training is from Wednesday, July 31, 2013 through Monday, August 26, 2013. GAs may move into their apartment as early as June 1.
