Living in the CIL
The Center for International Living (CIL) provides an intellectual
and social experience for Emory juniors and seniors living
at Clairmont Campus who have interests in international
topics and cultures.
The CIL is directed by Paul and Peggy Courtright who live at the end of the corridor adjacent to the CIL apartments. Paul Courtright is a professor in the Department of Religion with research and teaching interests on India and comparative religion. Peggy Courtright is an attorney in practice in Decatur with specialization in family law. CIL sponsors events throughout the year including informal receptions and talks by distinguished visitors to campus, Emory faculty, leaders in Atlanta engaged in various projects having to do with our city's growing international profile, discussions, films, and field trips. Students who are willing to make a commitment to participate in the CIL and make time for two events per month are invited to apply. Space is limited. Interested students should email Dr. Courtright (relpbc@emory.edu) indicating their interest in international topics and previous living or travel abroad. Applications are due by February 1, 2011. There are nine two-bedroom, one three-bedroom, and three one-bedroom units available. Students seeking two- or three-bedroom units are advised to apply together.
These are the important dates.
Theme house selection begins in January of each academic year and is coordinated
in conjunction with the Office of Residence Life & Housing. If you are interested
in inquiring about future openings, please use the contact information above.
