STEP 4: Selecting a Room Online
All housing selection processes for 2013-2014 will take place online through the housing system.

Please review the timeline to locate the process for which you are eligible and wish to participate.

For each selection process, all eligible students will be assigned a date and time to select housing. This information is posted on your MyHousing page.

When your assigned date and time arrives, you may go online and select a room (see Procedures below). Your MyHousing page will list all available housing. You may "shop" as much as you like; once your start time begins, you may select a room (or not) at any point until the posted end time for that selection process.

You may select a room and/or be pulled into a room during only one process. Therefore, once you have selected a room or been pulled into a room, the only other action available to you is to request a room change.

Once you have selected a room, you have 24 hours to cancel your selection. After that 24-hour period, if you have not canceled, you are obligated to housing for the full academic year.

Procedures
To select a room, log onto your MyHousing page at your designated date and time. Click on Select a Room/Suite. (This link will become active when your selection time begins.)

On the first page, choose Find Available Rooms and you will be given a list of all available rooms from which you are eligible to select. The list will include the following fields:

  • Hall name and Floor
  • Suite (if the room is a part of a suite)
  • Room Number
  • Open Beds (indicates the number of beds that remain available)
  • Room Type (double, single, apartment, etc.)
  • Fee (semester rate)

For buildings with traditional double rooms, you will see the option to Select Room only. For buildings where there are suites or apartment-style housing, you will have the option to Select Room or Select Suite. To view all of the beds in the suite, select Suite. To view only one room within the suite/apartment, select Room.

Clicking on the room number will allow you to see the name of anyone that has already selected a bedspace within the room or suite.

Gender Neutral option: If you wish to live in gender-neutral housing, you will need to select a two-bedroom apartment in the Clairmont CRC. This is the only building and room type available for this option. If you select into another room type with different gender roommates, your assignment will be administratively canceled.

After selecting a space, the next screen will display the room/suite you have selected and allow you to confirm your selection. You should place yourself into a bedspace. If you have a matched roommate request, you may place your roommate in a bedspace by selecting their name from the drop-down menu next to the bedspace. You must place your confirmed roommate in a bedspace at this time if you wish to live together -- this will not happen automatically, and you will not be able to return later to place roommates.

Press I Agree - Submit My Room Selection to complete the process; a new page should open that confirms your assignment.

After selecting your space, you will be ineligible to participate in another selection process. You may log back into MyHousing at any time to see your housing information and roommate/suitemate(s) information.
