Clairmont Campus is a part of Emory University where students,
faculty and staff live and learn together in a diverse community that values
respect, safety, and autonomous living in a friendly neighborhood environment.
While Clairmont Campus welcomes all members of the Emory University community,
it is primarily a residential campus, and policies and procedures governing
the use of space reflect our focus on residential living and the needs of
our residents. To best serve the community, usage is limited to events sponsored
by academic departments, administrative departments, SGA chartered
student organizations, students/staff currently enrolled/employed at Emory
University. Please keep in mind the following when planning your event at Clairmont Campus:
1.
All policies as outlined in the Emory University Undergraduate Code of
Conduct, the Clairmont Campus Handbook, the Undergraduate Housing Agreement,
the Clairmont Campus Lease Agreement, and Dooley’s Dates, are hereby
incorporated into the Clairmont Campus Space Reservation Policy.
2. All
guests at any event held at Clairmont Campus are responsible for
knowing and abiding by the Space Reservation Policy and all incorporated
documents, regardless of whether or not these guests are
Emory students. Sponsors are responsible for communicating
this information to their guests.
3. A university sponsor is required for
all events held at Clairmont Campus. A university sponsor is defined
as a current Emory
student,
employee, student organization or department. This individual
or group takes responsibility
for the conduct of all guests at the event, all space usage fees,
cleaning charges, and damage fees and must supply a billing code (7
digit student
EMPL ID number OR 10 digit departmental/student organizational
account code with sub-code (X-XXXXX-XXXX).
4. Fees collected for the use
of rooms and space at Clairmont Campus will be used to maintain and enhance
these spaces, to provide financial
support
for events held for residents of Clairmont Campus, and to support
the Faculty in Residence program at Clairmont.
5. Open containers
(bottles and cans) of alcohol are not permitted in any common areas. Common areas include but are not limited to
hallways, stairwells,
elevators, lobbies, utilities and storage rooms, common kitchens,
grounds and building exteriors.
6. Smoking is not permitted in
any common area (Tower 1832) or reservable space (Penthouse/1831, Music
Practice rooms, Courtyard
Commons and
Clocktower Commons).
7. Grills are not permitted (exception
if a catered event). Coals must be disposed of in off site location
by renters. The
fireplace
in the
Penthouse is not functional and may not be used.
8. The use
of candles or other lighted objects is generally not permitted. Exceptions
to this policy may be granted by
the Director
of Clairmont
Campus or his/her designee.
9. Groups are expected to cooperate
fully with any requests by Clairmont Campus staff and the Emory Police
Department.
Groups
are required
to cooperate fully in addressing the noise concerns
expressed by any resident
of
Clairmont Campus.
10. Signs and advertisements may only
be posted on designated bulletin boards with the permission of the
Clairmont Campus Community Office. Permission
may be
obtained by visiting the Community Office to present
signs or advertisements for review. Approved signs and advertisements
will bear an
approval stamp from
the Community Office. Improperly posted or unapproved
signs may be removed and discarded without notice.
11. Usage
of the Courtyard Computer Lab, the Tower Computer Lab, the Tower
Exercise Room and the Tower
Student Programming
space
(1832) is reserved
for University housing residents only, on a
first-come, first served basis, as described in Addendum E.
12.
Minor children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
