SYE Kickoff is a series of events hosted by SYE in August, at the beginning of the academic year. After moving back to campus, second-year students are immediately involved in SYE through these events and are given an introduction to the wide range of programs and resources that SYE can provide.

The SYE Kickoff begins with the Welcome Back Barbeque and closes with the first Sophomores Serve event.

Sophomore Summit

The major event hosted by SYE during the Kickoff is the Sophomore Summit. The Summit is a large convention-style program that features programs sponsored by offices from all over campus. The diverse number of programs offered give second-year students an early start by providing them an introduction to the resources to which they have access by being a part of SYE.
