Though SYE's most visible programs are active programs (meetings, dinners, events, etc.) SYE spends a great deal of time developing and implementing passive programs through advertising, publications, and resources. These are designed with the goal of conveying information to SYE participants, connecting them with useful resources, and notifying them about upcoming events.

Weekly Digest
To keep second-year students in the loop, SYE circulates a weekly email digest during the academic year. This digest includes information about upcoming programs and events hosted by SYE and its partners.

SYE Bulletin (Monthly Newsletter)
The monthly newsletter (SYE Bulletin) is distributed to second-year students and their families. The SYE Bulletin is larger, more in-depth, and focus on a wider variety of subjects rangingn from different campus activities and offices to interviews with staff and faculty. The Bulletin informs both parents and students about the subject matter covered and encourages second-year students to take the initiative and find out more.

Bulletin Boards
Resident Advisors, as an aspect of the normal programming requirements, are expected to put up informative bulletin boards periodically throughout the year. RAs in SYE buildings gear their billboards toward topics and areas of interest for second-year students. This focus enhances the SYE experience and puts second-year students in a position to easily access helpful topics and useful information.

Facebook
SYE has its own Facebook profile, as well as a dedicated group for each academic year. Through the use of social media outlets, SYE can connect directly with sophomores, create Facebook events for key programs, and use messaging and wall postings to advertise SYE events and promote SYE partners.

SYE Website
The SYE website is a valuable resource for students, parents, staff, faculty, and Campus Life professionals. It contains information on SYE and its history, programs, partners, and upcoming events. Keeping the SYE website up-to-date shares the most relevant and recent information about SYE with the public at large.
