SYE seeks to provide different incentives to second-year students in order to encourage participation in SYE events.

SYE Challenges

The SYE Challenges are eight goals that SYE believes are essential for second-year students to achieve if they hope to maximize their second year.

ResLife Rewards

ResLife Rewards is a program that gives credit to second-year students who participate in SYE events, are invovled in SYE programs, and complete the SYE Challenges. There are five basic ways to earn credit for ResLife Rewards:

• Attend an RA or hall program
• Go to an SYE event
• Complete an SYE Challenge
• Have a one-on-one with your RA
• Respond to surveys about the SYE newsletter

Second-year students earn credit when they complete one of the above options and report their completion. They earn rewards for every six points earned through this system, and rewards become more valuable as more points are earned. Awards in previous years have included coffee tumblers, SYE shirts and hats, hydroclocks, journals, flash drives, and leather-bound portfolios.
