Theme Housing Options
Are you looking for a close-knit, inclusive community where everyone knows each other? A fun group of people who enjoy similar activities and events? A place where faculty, staff and students come together around common interests? Have you considered living in theme housing? The Office of Residence Life & Housing provides you with a unique on-campus living opportunity through Theme Housing. Theme Housing consists of intentionally designed living experiences centered around a variety of academic, cultural, organizational, and personal interests. Theme Housing at Emory is another way students can be involved in living and learning in a residential environment. In order to participate in theme housing, you can either apply to one of the current themes that will be returning next semester, or you and your friends can create a new theme. Theme housing is not available through the traditional housing selection process. Theme Housing Returning for 2009-10 Academic Year
Looking for something other than the existing themes? Here's your opportunity for you and your friends to create your own theme for next year. Groups between 5-12 residential students may apply for their own themed housing. A limited number of spaces will be allotted for theme housing in order to ensure adequate support exists. To qualify for theme housing, residents should: • complete and submit a Housing Agreement (for each resident); Applications must be submitted by January 26, 2009 at 5 PM to 104 Alabama Hall. Finalists will be selected to present a 20-minute presentation to the Theme Housing Selection Committee on the afternoon of Friday, January 30, 2009. Please direct any questions to Dr. Andy Wilson, Assistant Dean for Campus Life & Director of Residence Life at andy.wilson@emory.edu or at 404.727.4144. |
