Room Condition Forms

Residence Life staff members inspect each room prior to residents' arrival to ensure rooms are move-in ready. The inspection notes any maintenance issues, furniture problems, and normal wear and tear.

We ask residents, upon your check in, to also inspect your rooms. Residents are responsible to report any wear and tear or existing issues in their rooms through the online Room Condition Form. By noting items, staff members will be able to more accurately assess damage billing when you checkout.

Damages that are found upon your check out, but not noted on your RCF from your move in, will be billed to you. (Details about damage assessment may be found here.)

Here are some areas/items to keep in mind when conducting your own inspection:

Bedroom

door/lock	carpet/floor	walls/ceiling
closet door/shelves	lights/light fixtures	windows/blinds
sink/faucet/towel rack	cabinets/drawers	mattress
furniture: bed, desk, dresser, chair, wardrobe (if applicable)

Bathroom

door	flooring	walls/ceiling
cabinets/drawers	lights/light fixtures	sink/faucet
shower/showerhead/ drain	toilet	towel rack(s)

Living Room/Kitchen

front door/lock	carpet/floor	walls/ceiling
closet doors/shelves	lights/light fixtures	windows/blinds
sink/faucet	cabinets/drawers
furniture: couch, end tables, coffe table, dining table, dining chairs, book shelf (if applicable)
appliances: stove, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer (if applicable)

If you find your room is in acceptable condition, no action is necessary; do not fill out the Room Condition Form.

If you feel an item needs immediate attention at move in:

1. Contact a Residence Life staff member to let them know of the issue; OR
2. Go to the check-in area of your building. (Clairmont Campus residents may also check with the Community Office in the Tower.)

If issues arise during the academic year, you may submit a maintenance work order through your MyHousing page.
