The Emory University Psychoanalytic Institute is a component part of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in the School of Medicine and an accredited training facility of the American Psychoanalytic Association. Its primary goals are: to educate psychoanalytic candidates to encouraging scholarship and research in psychoanalysis to provide a psychoanalytic presence within a pluralistic Department of Psychiatry to provide a psychoanalytic presence within the University for the reciprocal sharing of knowledge with other disciplines and to provide consultation and treatment services at reduced cost for the community .
