ISSP PROGRAMS
Passport to the WorldThe Passport to the World is an initiative undertaken by ISSP in lieu of its participation in the annual International Cultural Festival held since 1976 until 2006. We believe that more than one event highlighting Emory's international connections across the globe will provide a greater opportunity for students, scholars, faculty and staff to participate. This program is being held with co-sponsorship from the Sophomore Year Experience and provides a great opportunity to present to sophomores who have yet to declare a major what opportunities exist for them to connect with different parts of the world while at Emory. Fall 2006Focus: South Asia - Nov 13, 6:30pm - 9pm, Woodruff Residential Center As a scaled down festival of sorts, this program will offer booths, food and entertainment highlighting South Asia, as well as a brief talk from an Emory faculty member who lived and worked in India for five years. In addition, academic programs with links to South Asia will be highlighted. ISSP will be working with the Sophomore Year Experience, Office of Multicultural Programs and Services, Center for International Programs Abroad, Asian Studies and a variety of student organizations to co-sponsor this "mini-festival" highlighting Emory's connections with South Asia. Bollywood Film and Dance Fest - Nov 17, 10pm - 12midnight, SAAC Gym (Clairmont Campus) Bollywood film and dance festival offers live dance performances in front of the big screen. Also includes free food to accompany your viewing pleasure. This program is sponsored by Fridays @ 10, International Student and Scholar Programs, Clairmont Campus Programming, Student Academic and Activity Center, Asian Studies, Emory Bollywood, Sitara, Karma, Apsaras, and Azaadi. |
