Just 5 days Left to File Your Income Tax ReturnsApril 17, 12:00 a.m., is the deadline for filing your 2005 federal and state tax returns. In order to avoid filing a late return and thus subject to late fees, you returns must be postmarked on or before April 17. The deadline is normally April 15, however, since April 15 falls on the weekend, the filing date has been extended to April 17. If you haven't filed yet and you need help, ISSP has a handout listing places where you can get assistance. If you use one of the sources on the list, you may have a long wait in order to receive assistance because many tax payers wait until the last minute to file. All international students and scholars are required to file a tax return. If you had U.S. source taxable income, you must file Form 1040NR, 1040NREZ, 1040, or 1040A and Georgia Form 500. If you had no U.S. source taxable income, you must file Form 8843. |
