New Advising Structure - Has Your Advisor Changed? We have had some important staff and scheduling changes at the ISSP lately, and international students may be confused as to who his or her primary advisor is. International Student Advisor Ursula Spitzer advises ALL UNDERGRADUATE students, including those in the School of Nursing and the Goizueta Business School. She no longer advises the Candler School of Theology students. Angela Guinyard, came on board in January, 2008, replacing Laura Simkiss as the Senior International Student Advisor. She advises ALL MASTER’S LEVEL students at Emory’s professional schools, including Goizueta Business School, The Law School, Rollins School of Public Health, School of Nursing, School of Medicine/Allied Health, and Candler School of Theology. In addition to master’s level students, she will advise MDs in the Medical School, JDs in the Law School and Th.Ds in the Candler School of Theology. **Please note that Laura Simkiss has moved to the Scholar side of the ISSP office and no longer advises international students. Associate Director of Students, Dawn Williams, will advise ALL DOCTORAL AND MASTER’s students within the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Please consult the detailed chart below to locate your assigned advisor or if you have further questions. Please also note the schedule of your assigned advisor and contact that person for appointments or questions. You may also take advantage of each advisor’s “walk-in” hours or make a personal appointment with them outside of these hours: Walk-in Hours: All advisors are cross-trained in student issues and may be consulted with general questions or concerns; however, it is best to stick with your primary advisor for questions and situations specific to your case, program of study or school.
