RESOURCES ONLINE AND AT ISSP
Undergraduate International Peer ProgramInterested in helping new undergraduate international students adjust to the U.S. American and the Emory culture this Fall 2008? Each undergraduate mentor is matched with 5-10 new international freshmen and then corresponds with his/her students during the summer before the new students arrive. Any Emory undergraduate student, international or U.S. American, is eligible to apply. Mentors field e-mail and phone inquiries about residence hall life, packing, banking, classes - any topic an anxious and excited new student might be thinking about while preparing for college. Mentors and freshmen maintain relationships with each other for the first semester of the freshmen's first year. Mentors may organize shopping trips, MARTA excursions, help their students open bank accounts and write checks, and any other tasks international students would need assistance with upon arrival! It is a rewarding experience for all! The deadline for applications is Friday, April 18th, 2008! Apply now. Submit your application online at http://www.campuslife.emory.edu/issp/students/ipp.aspx For additional information, please contact Ursula Spitzer at ursula.spitzer@emory.edu |
