Emory has a vast number of dining options available and Atlanta is known for its unique dining options to fit every palette imaginable. Visit the Emory Dining website for more information and some ISSP’s favorite places to eat: Getting Around town: USING CLIFF & MARTA We have included a few maps in your orientation materials but we would like to suggest a few that may be of use to you as you familiarize yourself with the community. We have included direct links to the right to website maps of Emory, MARTA and CLIFF. Please bookmark on your computer at your convenience. CLIFF – Emory’s Transportation System Emory University encourages the entire community to use alternative transportation to navigate throughout the main campus and Emory affiliated facilities throughout the metro-Atlanta area. The CLIFF Shuttles are an extensive network of free transportation to connect you throughout the Emory community. Visit CLIFF’s websitefor an overview including the shuttles’ schedules. MARTA – PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM Atlanta’s public transportation system is called MARTA, or the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority. MARTA operates 702 buses over 154 routes throughout the greater Atlanta area, as well as trains serving thirty-eight stations. The buses that directly serve Emory are #6, #36 and #245 For more information on visit their website at www.itsmarta.com. Staying Fit at Emory WoodPEC Woodruff Physical Educational Center is the central repository for fitness and recreational services. It’s free for students, and scholars have the option of using the facility for a fee. Visit the website at www.wpec.emory.edu for more information. SAAC The Student Activity and Academic Center located at Clairmont Campus has a variety of fitness resources. It’s free for students, and scholars can join for a fee. Details are located at www.saac.emory.edu. Blomeyer Fitness Center Blomeyer is another option open to scholars of the university with a nominal membership fee. With membership at Blomeyer, WoodPec membership is included for free. You can find more information at www.emory.edu/blomeyer. MAKING NEW FRIENDS and EXPLORING THE CULTURE with the Atlanta Ministry with International Students (AMIS) AMIS is here to make your stay here in Atlanta as memorable as possible.
