GUIDELINES FOR SEEKING ADMISSION

Please note - The ISSP office does not provide any assistance or guidance with admissions to the university. You must contact directly the Admissions office of the school you want to attend. • Decide what level of study and which academic area you want to study.
  • Many schools offer admission information on the web. If feasible, visit the website before contacting the school/academic division to request information. You will be better informed and can ask specific questions. Explore more than just the admission information on the websites. Look at course offerings, resources available in the school, faculty who teach in the school, and additional opportunities that may be available.
  • Contact the office of admission of the school/academic division at Emory in your area(s) of interest.
  • Request general information about programs and an application. Be sure to identify yourself as an international student, some schools have supplemental materials or specialized applications for non-immigrant international students.
  • Carefully read through the information.
  • Be prompt and complete in submitting your application. Carefully observe the deadlines for submitting the application, transcripts, translation of documents, English language ability test scores, and any other information required by the school for admission. If there is a delay in collecting information, contact the admission officer and discuss this well before the deadline . The admission officer will inform you of the procedure to follow.
  • Ask the admission officer about the admission process and timeline, the procedure for checking the status of your application, and how the notification of the admission decision will be made. Be patient and observe the notification dates.
