Directions to areas of interest from Emory

Historic DRUID HILLS AREA (where they filmed "Driving Miss Daisy," a beautiful walking area, lovely old mansions, carriage houses for rent):

• Emory Village. There will be 4 roads on the left (Lullwater, Oakdale, Oxford, Springdale) which are connected by The By Way (running perpendicular).

VIRGINIA HIGHLANDS AREA (quaint old homes, shops, restaurants,etc):

• Take Clifton to N. Decatur Road. Right onto N. Decatur at the light. Pass through Emory Village. Cross Briarcliff. Road changes names to E. Rock Springs. Left onto N. Highland at the light. Pass by 1st shopping area. Continue to intersection of Virginia and N. Highland.
• Park on side streets where you can for walking to shops and restaurants:
• Moe's and Joe's, Everybody's Pizza, Pad Thai, La Tavola, Murphy's, Taco Mac, gelato, etc.
• There is another quaint strip ahead less than a mile ahead, as well: Surin Thai, Dark Horse, Limerick Junction, Atkins Park, Dish, Harvest, Hand in Hand, Neighbor's, Ben & Jerry's. etc.

DECATUR AREA (the town Square has vibrant shops, restaurants, etc.):

• Take Clifton to N. Decatur Road. Left onto N. Decatur at the light. Right onto Clairmont Road at the light. Road dead ends at the Courthouse (now used for events) on Ponce de Leon. Go left for Decatur Square. Go right on Ponce for other shopping/restaurant areas.

BUCKHEAD AREA (high end malls, restaurants, clubs, neighborhoods):

• Take Clifton to Briarcliff. Right onto Briarcliff, and immediate left onto Shepherd's Lane at the QT Gas Station. Go over the speed humps. Left onto LaVista at the light. Right onto Cheshire Bridge at the light. Go under I-85. Stay straight at major intersection. Road is now Lenox Road. Take all the way until you see Lenox Mall on your left. Lenox Road intersects with Peachtree Road after Lenox Mall. Phipps Plaza is ahead on the right after crossing Peachtree. Turn left to head south on Peachtree, passing numerous shops and restaurants. Following Peachtree south will take you all the way to Midtown and Downtown.
