Outdoor Activities

Public Parks are free and open during the day, and are scattered across the city.

  • Popular locations are Candler Park, Piedmont Park, Orme Park, Grant Park, and James McDaniel Park.
  • Lullwater Park, a part of Emory, is a nice place for walking and picnicking.
  • Georgia State Parks are also open, www.gastateparks.org
  • The Chattahoochee River has many trails along its banks, 678-538-1200 for more information.

Free Activities

Every May and September, the main square in Decatur has free outdoor concerts in the evening, www.decatur-ga.com.
