Schools

Public school education is free in the U.S. beginning at age 5. Children are assigned to a school based on where they live, so think about this as you choose a home. You must register your child for the DeKalb County School system at the International Center at Warren Technical School (3075 Alton Rd, 678-676-6602). You will need to bring the child's passport, proof of residency (rental contract or utility bill), a certificate of Eye, Ear, and Dental Examination (Form 3300), and an immunization certificate (Form 3032 or 3231). The cost for the forms is $35. Your child does NOT need a Social Security Number.

The above forms are available at:

North Dekalb Health Center, 8am to 3:30pm
3807 Clairmont Rd. NE
Chamblee, GA 30341 (MARTA #70)
