Chimpanzees New Climbing Structure
The Living Links Center is dedicated to providing the chimpanzees with environments that encourage naturalistic behaviors. In May of 2006, old playground equipment in one of the spacious outdoor habitats was replaced with a large wooden climbing structure that the chimps use for various activities such as swinging and climbing. The other chimpanzee enclosure (left) also has a wood climbing structure.
In the picture below, the chimpanzees see the structure for the first time.
