MORE Mentor Eligibility
In order for your application to be considered for review and schedule and interview, you must:
- Be a rising sophomore, junior or senior.
- Have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher.
- Not be on academic or disciplinary probation. Candidates with severe/excessive conduct violations are not eligible.
- Be able to attend the MANDATORY training on Saturday, April 18, 2009. Please note the change in the training date. More details are forthcoming.
- Be in attendance for pre-orientation and orientation related activities, including but not limited to the Welcome Reception on Saturday, August 22, 2009.
- Be able to commit to fully performing your duties as a mentor from Spring 2009- Fall 2009
New Mentors
Students who wish to be a MORE Mentor are required to:
- Complete an application.
- Participate in a group and individual interview.
- Attend the mandatory programs/ events mentioned above.
Returning Mentors
Former mentors who wish to continue in the program are required to:
- Complete an application.
- Submit a recommendation from their past mentee or Mentor Advisor which describes your commitment to MORE and mentoring.
- Attend the mandatory programs/ events mentioned above.
- Returning Mentors are NOT required to interview to be reconsidered.
- Decisions on readmission for returning mentors will be based on a completed application and stellar recommendation from a mentee or Mentor Advisor.
In addition, returning mentors must meet the general eligibility requirements in order to be reconsidered for the position.
