ABRAHAM MATHAI

Born and brought up in India, I completed my Bachelor's in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Pune.
Thereafter, I worked in the financial technology industry for firms like Oracle Financial Services Ltd (formerly i-flex solutions ltd) and Goldman Sachs. During my stint at Goldman Sachs, I decided to leave the world of finance for my dream - medical science. I did my Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology where I specialized in Neurorehabilitation Engineering. I then decided to delve into the basic science of Parkinson's disease after joining Emory University's PhD Neuroscience program. I am currently studying the synaptic microcircuitry of the glutamatergic inputs to the sub-thalamic nucleus in rhesus macaques.
