USEFUL UNIX COMMANDS FOR SUN Workstation

                   Open shell by click the console icon on the top right:

Before you transfer the data to your PC, you should zip the folder:

%tar cvf new_zip_file.zip your_data_dir ----- a new single file will generated, transfer this file to PC and then unzip it.

%rm -r dirctory_name

%cp -r name.fid new_name.fid ------ Varian NMR data set has four files, you have to copy the directory together.

%mv -if name.fid new_name.fid

%chmod 744 name_file

ls ------ list files

rm -r file_name ------ remove files

cd folder_name ------ change directery

su acqproc ------- to connect or disconnect the communication with the console

# mount -Fpcfs /dev/dsk/c1t0d0s0:c /mnt -------- mount a flash drive to SUN blade 1500
